Brain Natriuretic Peptide

 BNP also Brain Natreuretic Peptide/ B-type Natreuretic Peptide

  •  secreted by ventricle
  • useful in prognosticating heart failure(HF) ,screening  of chronic heeart failure(cut off 100pg/L, if normal it is not heart failure) and treatment (recombinant BNP = Niseritide)
  • Niseritide is used to treat decompensated heart failure.
